Subways/Metros/Undergrounds explores not only the stories of various underground transit systems around the world but also those of the commuters that utilize these systems daily. The publication visually contrasts the two sides to create an index of public transit systems.

Structured like an index with uniform sections and color-coding to distinguish the 14 selected countries.

To differentiate between stories about infrastructure and humans, the publication utilizes a san serif typeface with black & white imagery to denote infrastructure and a serif typeface with colored imagery to showcase the liveliness of commuters.
